In New York city there are a surprising amount of dogs that live there 1.4 million of them at least according to Jonathan Foer's article "My Life as a Dog." I personally found that very interesting, but then I thought to myself "Why wouldn't someone want a dog?" I have a dog personally and the only reason that I could come up with to which why someone wouldn't want a dog is that they are allergic to them. And in all reality a dog will be happy to see you as soon as you go by them. no matter how long you are away they are instantly happy to see you when you come back by them. As shown in the reading dogs can be a problem at times and yet people love their pet all the same. I thought it was super adorable that young children listed a pet as an important individual to them. I had a dog when I was younger that I loved to play with, although I also bite his tail. I don't think that was my best idea. Dogs like to run around and play you can see how happy that they are by all the tail wagging that they do. When an animal is happy why would they act out of aggression? There is no need for them to because the main reason to act out of aggression is being not happy, upset, or sad. In the article it showed the importance of space for dogs and people. It stated that the real estate that central park is on was worth $500 billion dollars. All of that is for a park for people and animals to share and I think that it is really neat. The article talked a lot about the rule for a dog to be off of there leash for a time period and that is a good idea for most dogs some do not behave well when you let them by other people. That's how my dogs were and are so i would want centeral park to not have off leash hours for that reason.

I totally agree with this. I am also a dog lover/owner and I love playing with my dog etc.I also think it was really cool how the author included "rule for a dog" and how it was with off leash/ on leash hours. But i would have to disagree, I think Central Park should have off leash hours if your dog is well trained enough!
ReplyDeleteI too found the statistics that he used to be fascinating! And I am a dog owner as well, however; I think that dogs should not be restricted to certain off-leash hours.

ReplyDeleteI own dogs myself and agree that dogs shoudlnt be restricted to specific hours when they can be off a leash. Pets can be unpredictable as far as when they want to be active and it isnt fair that someone should dictate something along these lines.
